Quilting Progress

My first attempt at quilting is going surprisingly well. This leads me to believe I'm either missing something really important, or I haven't gotten to the hard part yet. I got one of those cutting matts and one of the sharp roller dealy-jobbers which is really fun to play with and makes the job a lot easier. Would you believe there are no quilters in Oz out here? After moving from a town rich with experienced quilters, I pick now to attempt making one myself. My timing is really lousy. I love our homemade quilt, btw!!

I find the hardest part of quilting is choosing the fabrics. I sometimes spend 4 hours doing just that -- and actually doing the quilting on the really big ones sometimes turns into a wrestling match. Have fun.

I had always wanted to quilt. Had a friend that made them all the time and said they were really easy. I took a quilting class a few years ago and made a quilt. When someone teaches you how to make the 'block' the rest is easy. I have made 5 quilts and hand quilted 3 of them... the other two arent finished yet.
I miss making the quilt but Im kinda busy right now with the little ones. Happy Quilting

I took a closer look at your quilt...I have a hint for you that took me until my 3rd quilt to figure out.... you may already know this but,,,instead of cutting all the little block, cut long strips and sew them together. Then cut them into the size block you want. It makes the blocks come out more even. Hope that helps

Wow, that looks nice. I've never really tried quilting, but I've always thought it looked fun. But, I have enough knitting, crocheting and embroidery projects to keep me busy for the rest of my life, probably!

Hey that looks fun. I am jealous. I just need a good sewing machine and maybe I could attempt to do mine that I started before we got married. I look at it every so often. It looks hard but would be fun to try. I surprised myself with recovering my couch, not that it looks professional or anything. Hey lets web call today if you get this.
